I love that cover!
Looks like a great issue.
Yeah, the cover is creepy. I'm wondering if it's the same artist who they used to do the one with the fish with a woman's face some issues earlier.
Browsing at the bookstore this afternoon, I managed to hand-sell a copy of Shadow Year to someone who was complaining there was nothing different and interesting to read, and the clerk was at a loss. She seemed skeptical at first (not wanting to take my word as a stranger) but when I told her it was a big hit with my bookgroup, that seemed to excite her.
Lesson learned: don't take the word of one stranger. take the word of a dozen strangers. ::shrug::
And then I bought an iced coffee and shamelessly flirted with the barista. She was half my age, but I'm all the man she'll ever need. Or not. *sigh*
Bonus: new issue of Asian Cult Cinema was in! :-D!
My work here, apparently, is done. ::whooshes away::
A job well done, my friend. Thanks. Wow, your bookstore gets Asian Cult Cinema? The magazine sections of the 2 bookstores within striking distance of where I live have the blandest selection anyone can imagine. 3/4's car and beauty and celebrity bullshit.
Yeah, well, that is pretty much the magazine selection here as well. Except the man/woman in charge l-o-v-e-s movies, so that is fully fleshed out (selection wise).

I just received my new issue and love it. The Garbacologist by Jeff Johnson is deeply moving. | |
