Got an e-mail from Gary Turner at Golden Gryphon Press
http://www.goldengryphon.com/ a couple of days ago.  He's having a holiday 2 for 1 sale.  Buy a book and get one of lesser or equal value for free.
Golden Gryphon has a great line-up of work by some of the best writers in the field -- Andy Duncan, Lucius Shepard, Mary Rickert, Jeff VanderMeer, Joe Lansdale, Rick Bowes, Michael Bishop etc.  My collections, The Fantasy Writer's Assistant and The Empire of Ice Cream as well as the Well-Built City Trilogy are available in trade paperback (all with John Picacio Covers).  Check it out.

"Buy a book and get one of lesser or equal value for free."

How does one determine a book's value? For some people this would mean they would buy Atlas Shrugged and get a copy of Das Kapital for free, because it would be of less value for them.

Others would want to pay for a Stephen King book and then get the Deen Koontz of their choice for free.

I see this offer leading to nothing buy anarchy.

Speaking of Anarchy, have you read the new Margret Attwod, The Year Of The Flood?

Great sci fi and all about anarchy.

I just finished it last night and it's haunting me.

I don't think I've ever finished a book by Atwood. I remember starting a couple. Maybe I should give it another go.

This one is really cool. It takes place in a future where the worst fears of global warming have come true and scientists have mastered gene splicing so they've created stuff like plants that can grow boneless skinless chicken breast and pets called Rakunks that are half racoon/half skunk (but make nice smells when they are frightened. Of course this all ends badly but it's a really fun bit of sci fi.

Just bought your two short story collections. My cat has been having trouble sleeping and I thought I could use them to lull him into a deep snooze!
